Wrap it up!
However tempting it may be December, particularly the early part of the month, is not the time to start new projects. Carla and I have learnt this after many years of planning new projects at the start of December and then wondering why they didn’t happen. A mound of order shipping, festive celebrations and tinsel buried them. Instead, I’m taking a hint from the rolls of wrapping paper that keep falling out of my cupboard (a bargain January sale purchase). Wrap things up. Say that you’ll finish if you can. If not note where you are ready to pick up at some late point.
Priorities!
I overthought prioritising. That’s why I always struggled with it. It was only when I really had limited time and a long job list that I was really able to work out what I would focus on. And I must confess. I would always add on a couple more things that I thought I could squeeze in. Maybe there’s something to be said for crossing out the last two things you add to your priorities list. Between now and 2023, you’ve likely got a lot to do. Try to not wear yourself out. Are yourself what can’t wait until after Big Ben chimes?
Time to enjoy the season
You’re supposed to be having fun but it’s hard to do when you’re frazzled. So get that early night then you’ll be able to savour all the bits that delight you. I’m looking forward to viewing Christmas lights, opening my advent calendar and spending a few hours post-festivities coming up with a lovely plan for 2023. But you do you. What are you most looking forward to?
