We all want a bit more time. We struggle to fit things in. When we’re feeling harassed we ask for more hours in the day. Or enough time to get it, whatever it may be, done by the end of the week.

I’m still working on more hours in the day. However, I did have a thought or two about more days in the month. A discussion about statistics recently reminded me that there really 13 months in the year. If you divide 52 by 4 you get 13 which offers a way to see things differently.

What if you took each month as being 28 days and took the 2 or 3 days before a new month started as extra? It wouldn’t be much help with being busy with tasks and activities on specific days of the week. Monthly tasks, however, might be a way to utilise this.

You could avoid scheduling reoccurring tasks after the 28th. That would result in a couple of days each month for catching up. up. Or you could have time to do intensive work on your monthly goals. Or you could do all reoccurring tasks to be done on the 29th or 30th. Then you wouldn’t need to worry about them for the rest of the month.

I’m keen to experiment with this way of thinking. And maybe then I’ll have time to create an extra hour or 2 in the day.
