I finally made it to the Harry Potter studio tour on Tuesday afternoon. Much to the amusement of the dear friend I was with, I insisted on taking pictures of the stationery-related things that popped up now and again!
Don’t you wish all stationery shops were like this?
I went into paroxysms of delight at the wall of printed material from the films:
And in among the white card models (made before the real sets), a perfect miniature Quibbler printing press.
Never one to be shy and retiring, I also managed to get on Hagrid’s motorbike despite being at least twenty years older than everyone else who wanted to.
One of the reasons I’m so fond of the Harry Potter canon is that the films, for me, stay reasonably true to my original visions when I read the books. And how I wish I could get my hands on some of that wall of paperwork…
Altogether it was a glorious and surprisingly stationery-filled day, especially in their gift shop! Are you a Potter fan? Do you have quills and parchment and multicoloured inks in your stationery stash? Or perhaps a sneaky Hogwarts notebook or two?
