Don’t let January take you by surprise!

If you’ve got things happening in January and February you’ve probably decided to think about them after Christmas. That’s absolutely fine but book time in to do it. Basically, things can get strangely busy. It won’t be fun to be a few weeks into 2023 and find things half-done. Hence, time blocking will make you look back favourably on your past self.

Take care of your feet

Feet that are the wrong temperature are something that often seems to be a concern at Ink Drops HQ. Last summer, we took care of this by working outside and periodically waving a hosepipe under the table. Presently it’s time to prepare for colder months. So do a satisfying sock drawer clear-out. Repair anything with holes. Or turn it into wrist warmers or help it find a new purpose as a duster. Summer shoes can be tucked away or taken for repairs meaning that your winter foot gear is front and central when needed. Doesn’t that feel better?

Stop planner procrastination

Put an end to scrolling through planners and wondering which one might work. Set aside an hour and go through your current system. Think about the sections you use. Consider which ones annoy you. Ask where the gaps are being filled by other notebooks, sticky notes or apps. From this make a list of mus-haves from layout to size and colour. Then begin to browse in a more informed way. If the company offers the opportunity to download sample pages take them up on it and try it out. Or find a photo of the pages, draw a version of it and see if there are dealbreakers. I know I want something dated, vertical and with plenty of space to write my huge task lists!
