Data we collect & use

We may use data anonymously to help us improve our offering – for example, bestselling products to UK customers, or selections most often sold to the USA.

If you are a customer:

We use Square as our payment processor, and within Square, you submit your name, postal address and email address along with payment for goods from us.

We use this under the GDPR lawful basis of Contract, which means we will use your name and postal address to post your purchases to you, and your email address if we need to contact you about your order (for example, to notify you of changed stock levels, to send you a gift certificate, to check address details if they are not supplied sufficiently, to liaise regarding gift messages within the parcel, if your parcel is returned to us undelivered, or any other communication directly related to your order).

We do not have access to your payment details.

If you are subscribed to our newsletter:

We use Mailchimp as our data processor for our newsletter, with a double opt in (meaning that when you enter your email to sign up, you will receive an email asking you to confirm you do in fact want to receive messages from us). On receipt of your double opt in, you will receive our current selection of free printables – you do not have to stay subscribed to the newsletter in order to continue to use these.

We only collect your email address for this purpose, and we use this data under the GDPR lawful basis of Consent, which means that by signing up to our newsletter, you are giving us permission to send you marketing emails. You may unsubscribe (opt-out) at any time – we include the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email we send.

Emails

Emails you send us, and emails that Square sends us about your payments, are stored in our email folders, and used under the lawful basis “Legitimate Interests” – we are obliged to keep financial records in case of an audit, but no personal information is shared at any time.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics.

inkdrops.co.uk uses cookies for Google Analytics, for Pinterest, for a sharing plugin (making it easier for you to share our content on social media) and for your shopping cart in Woocommerce, to improve your experience online. We do not extract this data or use it in any other way.

As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser.

Your rights

You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time – we include a “manage preferences” and “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of every email we send through Mailchimp. If you are a customer, beyond the safe receipt of your order, we will store your information only for legal purposes such as tax and accounting, and only for the amount of time HMRC requires.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
